Road And Common Area Maintenance Priorities
The biggest single challenge we face regarding Sassafras Ridge is the repair and maintenance of our roads.
With owners and the Association working collectively, we are confident that we can make big strides in the future!
Here are some of our upcoming goals for the roads as well as a few other projects (signage, dumpsters) within the community.
2026 Road & Infrastructure Priorities
Shorter Term - areas to research and begin to implement
Road maintenance: Identify several key sections of road for SRLOA to work on that fit within the annual budget. Begin this work - which may include:

Grading

Trenching - for better drainage

Gravel placement

Strategic culvert placement - also to help drainage
Road signage: Install several road signs to help with way-finding at Sassafras. Activities include:

Consult with Planning official to confirm current road names

Seek cost estimates and select vendor

Finalize sign design

Complete sign fabrication

Complete sign installations
Trash dumpsters: Restore trash dumpsters at the North and South entrances:

Contact County and others for recommended vendors

Seek cost estimates and select vendor

Confirm pick up and maintenance schedule

Schedule dumpster delivery
Other: Grass cutting at Sassafras entrances as well as Lake Nia, Lake Imani, and the Nature Reserve entrance.
Longer Term - areas to research for future work

Rebuild impassable area between Sassafras North and Sassafras South

Lake Nia dam maintenance.

Install new monument signs at both entrances

Install/relocate lighting, place reflectors at strategic, mutually agreed upon spots
